A wide variety of fluids are used in a modern auto repair shop. Fluids are used for the lubrication and cleaning of many things on cars as well as around the shop. Note below that both water and air are listed, and it's important to not overlooked the value of either fluid around the shop. As cleaners, both water and air are used on virtually every job from blowing sanding dust off a body panel to washing your hands.
Using most fluids is not dangerous, although prolonged contact to certain fluids such as petroleum oil may cause cancer. Additionally, be sure to observe all environmental regulations and procedures. For more information on handling and recycling fluids, see these protocols: Chemicals & Solvents Protocol and Recycling & Waste Protocol |
