The following protocols are covered in this section:
1. First Contact Evaluation (FCE) (for first time clients)
2. Pre-Purchase Evaluation (PPE) (for existing or new clients when buying a SAAB)
3. General Evaluation (GE) (for existing clients that would like periodic assessment of the car)
There is no difference in the three protocols in terms of structure and all use the same interactive form. The difference is in name only to properly describe the type of evaluation the SAAB is to receive.
Additionally, the Vehicle Evaluation can either be Level 1 or Level 2 depending upon need. As with all JGA Class or Level definitions, the lower the Class or Level number the more basic or less impacting the procedure. Level 1 evaluations are far less comprehensive than Level 2 evaluations.
Level 1 First Contact Evaluations are mandatory for all new clients and/or vehicles. Depending upon the results of the Level 1 evaluation, a Level 2 evaluations may also be mandatory.
The cost of these evaluations are as follows:
All Level 1 vehicle evaluations are without charge, although these evaluations are limited to a short test drive with the client. No written report is provided and electronic interface with the Tech 2 diagnostic tool is not included. If the diagnostic tool is hooked up to the vehicle there is a charge of $75.
All Level 2 vehicle evaluations are $102. This is discounted from the usual shop rate of $87 per hour. These evaluations take between three to six hours and also include a complete electronic interface with the Tech 2 diagnostic tool. The usual $75 cost of the Tech 2 hook up is included in the $102. A comprehensive written report is also provided with the Level 2 evaluation. Findings are noted in the report and in certain cases where the technician discovers/uncovers extremely bad conditions digital photographs the damage may also taken. The report is also used in conjunction with service notes forms. A copy of this report will accompany the client service notes. The service notes will outline the findings and will also break down any upcoming repairs, if any, by priority. The priority of repairs is structured by Class Levels 1-3 whereby level 1 is discretionary, level 2 is intermediate, and level 3 is immediate.
If either the Level 1 or 2 evaluation revealed the need for additional diagnostics, then additional charges will apply. Common examples of additional costs are laboratory testing, oil pressure testing, compression testing, and/or cooling system testing. No advanced diagnostics are included with this evaluation service. |
