Cleaning Protocol for Technicians & Salvagers

Job: Technician, Salvager, Level 2 Shop Assistant

During the course of regular shop repair work, vast amounts of dirt, grease, and grime are produced and it is the duty of each person working in the shop to maintain the work environment. The tools, benches, floor and equipment must be kept clean and the work area must be uncluttered in order to produce high quality work. Additionally, a clean shop is mandatory to prevent injury to the worker or the client as accidents and oversights are more likely to occur while working in a dirty disorganized work space.

The primary cleaning approach is to “clean as you go” which means that dirt and debris are immediately cleaned as they are produced and tools are immediately cleaned and put away as they are used. In addition to the “clean as you go” strategy undertaken by all employees during the course of their normal work, the below cleaning duties must be carried out.
